Shingles / 4-Star Extended Warranty: We are proud to be accredited with Certainteed. We’ve made this investment & commitment to go that extra mile for you. Because we are accredited, we are able to upgrade your manufacturer's warranty from the standard warranty to a 4-star SureStart Plus warranty. To summarize Certainteed's 4-star warranty, this means you receive a 50-year "full replacement" if your shingles fail – by "full replacement", they mean new shingles, tear off labor, replacement labor as well as disposal costs. This is not a prorated warranty – the same warranty exists in year 49 as in year 1! Upon completion of your roof, we submit the information to Certainteed and they mail you the warranty certificate. This is not a warranty from us - this is a Fortune 500 Manufacturer warranty so if you were to need replacement within the 50 years, you can choose any contractor you wish. Even if you don’t plan on living in your home that long, you gain a great sales advantage because it is transferrable if sold within 12 years of installation. Of course, they require we use the absolute best materials and that we ensure ventilation exists so there is a cost to obtain this fabulous warranty but the extra cost now is much cheaper than paying to replace your roof 20 or 30 years down the road
Shingles / Standard Warranty: If you want to keep the price down and just desire the standard warranty that comes from the manufacturer, we can respect that and certainly can offer you a lower price. The standard warranty is limited to the material replacement only and is prorated each year starting at year 10. So if these shingles were to fail down the road, you would be responsible for the tear off labor, replacement labor & disposal.
Rubber roofs: We provide an extensive flat roofing service ranging from repair work, leak detection, complete renewal / re-design through to insulation upgrade conforming to current regulations. We install High Performance Single Ply Systems.
Fully insured: Have you ever wondered what happens if someone working on your home falls off or hurts themselves? You can be liable. Don’t assume that because a roofing contractor has a license means they are fully insured. Yes, the state requires they carry liability insurance but the state does not require workman’s compensation insurance. So if a roofing contractor tells you, “yes, we are insured” – ask the next question – “Do you carry work comp insurance?” If not, they are putting you at risk. At Ellefson Builders, we care about you and our workers – that’s why we carry workman’s compensation insurance on the men working on your home.
